Swesif is a network for organizations who work for or with sustainable investments in Sweden. We are an independent, non-profit making association. Our members are primarily capital owners and managers.

Questions about the Membership
Who can become a member of Swesif?
Swesif provides two different types of membership. Ordinary membership is for capital managers and/or capital owners with operations in Sweden. Other legal entities who work for or with sustainable investments and want to support the forum’s purposes and who have operations in Sweden are accepted as associate members. The board decides on membership.
How much does it cost to become a member?
Members of Swesif pay an annual fee divided into a VAT-free membership fee of SEK 100 and a deductible service fee. The service fee is based on what type of business, capital under management and number of employees. Read more here.

What are the advantages of being a member of Swesif?
As a member of Swesif, you get access to seminars, member meetings, round table discussions, news, and tips via e-mail. You also get the opportunity to make contacts with colleagues and stakeholders in and outside of Sweden, requests to participate in development projects and the opportunity to take your own initiatives within the framework of the forum’s activities.
As a member, can I use Swesif's logo?
Yes, members can use Swesif’s logo to signal membership.

What is sustainable and responsible investments?
Sustainable and responsible investments is a collective name for a range of different working methods that investors apply to take environmental and social responsibility in their investments. In Eurosif’s European SRI Study 2012, seven different strategies are described.

Are there definitions of Hållbarshetsprofilens strategies/methods Fund opts in/Fund opts out/Fund company influences?
Together with the members, Swesif has developed guidelines which describes what is expected or required of a fund to state that it applies a certain strategy. The guidelines can be found in both Swedish and English versions at Hållbarhetsprofilen.
What does The fund opts in mean?
”The fund opts in – describes whether the fund uses sustainability analysis of companies and to which extent, whether the fund is thematic and only invests in assets linked to sustainable development or whether the fund is focused on Impact Investing.
What does The fund opts out mean?
”The fund opts out – describes which products, services, or countries a fund doesn´t invest in. It also describes whether the fund avoids investing in companies that are involved in violations of international norms and conventions regarding the environment, human rights, working conditions or business ethics.
What does The fund company influences mean?
”The fund company influences describes how the fund company uses its influence to affect companies on sustainability issues. Note that the advocacy work is done for the entire fund company’s holdings and not specifically on behalf of this fund.

Does Swesif offer educations in sustainability?
Swesif organizes seminars and events for the members. Sometimes Swesif helps students who have essay ideas, but currently they have no educational activities of its own

Can you recommend any courses in Sweden or the EU in sustainable investments?
Stockholm School of Economics offers a two-day course in Sustainable Finance via SSE Executive Education. Another option is the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
